Office of Intellectual Property

Copyright

The Copyright Licensing Office (phone 517.355.2186) assists faculty and staff who have developed MSU-owned copyrightable intellectual property to license the product with third party marketers or publishers, acting as MSU's negotiating and licensing agent, or to distribute the product through MSU channels. The Copyright Licensing office administers the University's copyright policy through the office of the Associate Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies, including reviewing the policies on University owned materials and the royalty-distribution policy.

Staff in the MSU Libraries can assist faculty and staff seeking permissions to use copyrightable materials owned by other parties. Please contact MSU Libraries Digital and Multimedia Center, phone @ 517.432.6123 x 296.
