Business Start Up

Staff in the Office of Intellectual Property support economic development goals of the State of Michigan by providing information and assistance to small businesses pursuing start-up opportunities in the Greater Lansing area.

If the business is being contemplated by a member of the MSU faculty or staff, conflict of interest management as well as licenses based on MSU's platform technologies are managed through OIP.

Staff also helps existing ventures and ventures not associated with an MSU faculty or staffperson to succeed by putting them in touch with Michigan resources and programs.
